Apple might pull this top performing sticker app for looking like actual iMessage chat bubbles

A top performing iOS app recently received a message from Apple saying that the app may be pulled out if it does not get the significant changes it needs. The Phoneys sticker pack app hit the #1 Top Paid spot in the iMessage App Store in no time. Despite its success, it is being threatened to be pulled out because it apparently violates Apple trademarks...

Daniel Radcliffe Just Shared His Thoughts on Donald Trump and Voldemort

Back in December 2015, J.K. Rowling compared Donald Trump to Voldemort - if you can even call it a comparison. Rowling tweeted that not even Voldemort was as terrible as Donald Trump in response to Trump suggesting that Muslims be banned from entering the US. Now, another former cast member from Harry Potter has joined her in that sentiment - Daniel Radcliffe.

During an interview with Sky News, Radcliffe was asked about the tweet the Rowling sent out. Radcliffe shared that he didn't think Donald Trump was as "ideologically pure as Voldemort." He went on and said, "My thing on Trump is that he feels like more of an opportunist - like I don't know how much of this stuff he's saying he actually, really, really believes." You can watch the short segment below.

There you have it; yet another celebrity weighs i on Donald Trump and the person he is.

Allo improvements possibly on the way per Google developer

Last week Google launched Allo, the latest messaging platform from the company. Although it was hyped at Google I/O earlier this year, the Allo release was widely panned with the app frequently described as “half-baked” (which is probably on the generous side). Although Allo does have some nice features, most notably the Google Assistant artificial […]

Relax Your Mind With This Soothing Instagram Account of Crunchy Sounds

Say farewell to memes taking over your Instagram feed. Instead, a new trend is popping up: videos of putty, slime, paint, and other materials being mixed, touched, cut, or pinched. If you watch one of these videos, you might feel yourself relaxing and letting go of any worries from the day. That's because these videos are part of ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response), an experience where watching videos that do one of the above puts you at ease. Our new favorite account is crunchyvideos, a collection of different slimes and putties being pinched or touched to make a sound.

The account, with more than 25,000 followers, does exactly like what it sounds like: it posts videos of people crunching something up to make a sound. It's incredibly soothing to see something turn into a new mold and hear it at the same time. If you need any help sleeping or need a second to relax, try watching some of our favorites ahead.

Did This iPhone 7 Explode Before It Got to Its Owner?

Courage from pics

It looks like Apple might need to address consumers after images of a burnt-to-a-crisp iPhone 7 have left the internet asking a lot of questions. Before we all laugh it off as just another Samsung Note 7 experience, let's look at the facts.

Reddit user kroopthesnoop posted the photos of the phone, explaining that a co-worker ordered the new iPhone 7. They stated that when it arrived, the packaging was completely damaged and the phone itself was burnt. Although everyone was quick to assume that the iPhone exploded, which may be the case, it's also possible that the package had a rocky journey to its owner, causing it to be completely destroyed.

Earlier in September, Samsung Note 7 phones were recalled after many users saw their phones explode and catch fire, but that issue was caused by overheating batteries and this new iPhone's battery wasn't on in the package. All rest assured, though - in an update on the post, the Reddit user said Apple contacted the co-worker about the phone and has sent a replacement phone. What do you think happened to this crispy iPhone 7?

This Customer Absolutely Lost It and Destroyed a Lot of iPhones

Sometimes, customer service isn't the best and you can't help but get so angry. That's the partial story behind a man in France who walked into an Apple Store and smashed up a bunch of iPhones, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

The man walked into an Apple Store in Dijon, France, and started taking the iPhones off stands and smashing them up with a "heavy steel ball used for the popular game in French game of Boules," reported 9to5Mac. You can watch a video of the madness both above and below, with a tweet from Twitter user, Quentin_IOS.

Did that sound make you cringe? It's pretty much the sound I hear every day when I drop my iPhone on the ground and pray it didn't crack. At one point, the man says, "Apple is a company that violated European consumers' rights. They refused to reimburse me, I told them: 'Give me my money back.' They said no. So you know what's happening? This is happening!" according to Mashable. 9to5Mac further reports that the man was eventually taken out of the store and almost fled mall security but didn't manage to do it before being taken into custody.

The lesson here? The people who work in the store aren't totally responsible for whatever Apple might've done as a company and it's not fair to take it out on the staff and their workplace.

Google's Newest App Will Make Planning a Trip SO Easy

Whether you're thinking about your Summer 2017 travel plans or another trip, you know that planning a vacation is both stressful and exciting. You're pumped about going somewhere new, but the thought of making sure you see everything you want and wisely follow recommendations from friends and family is overwhelming. But with Google's newest app, Google Trips, planning any travel should get infinitely easier.

Google Trips, available for free on both Android and iOS, is an app that will plan and store your entire trip. Pulling information from your email, it will keep your reservations handy, let you know of the top activities to do, recommend specific dishes and restaurants to eat at, detail how and what to use to get around with public transportation, and a lot more - and that's just information you get based on where you're going.

If you want to get even more specific and figure out every detail, Google Trips will provide a ready-made itinerary (note: this only applies to the "top 200 cities of the world"). You can pick from a full day, morning, or afternoon schedule, as well as choose the day of the week (helpful in case an attraction is closed on certain days). Want to start your day somewhere specific? You can pin that point and the app will suggest a new array of activities to do based on that information. You can also save other places you're interested in seeing.

Combine this app with Google Destinations, the company's research and booking experience that provides itineraries, flight prices, and more, and every vacation should no longer be stressful. See screenshots of the app ahead, but warning: you might never want to plan another trip again without it.

People Are Making Kanye West Their Lock Screen, and It's So Good

This trend started when Twitter user michaellbutlerr tweeted the photo of Kanye at Yeezy Season 3 in Madison Square Garden and why he loved it so much.

As you can see, people liked the idea so much, the tweet itself has more than 170,000 retweets and 310,000 "likes." Of course, others started doing the same, and the notifications Kanye holds up feel a little more touching. Check out some of our favorites here, and maybe try it yourself.

Unless You're a Demogorgon, You'll Love This Stranger Things Club Night

Since its release on Netflix in July, Stranger Things is practically in every aspect of pop culture. The show's young actors attended the Emmy Awards, appeared on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, and inspired Halloween costumes, cupcakes, even lip art! It isn't surprising that a nightclub party now exists that is, also, inspired by the television phenomenon.

Strangest Things is a club night taking place in cities around the UK. The party features a vinyl DJ, plenty of '80s decor, multicolored Christmas lights, Eggos, and a necessary shrine to Barb, Nancy's forgotten best friend. Here's hoping that this party will eventually make its way over to the US.

Here's How to Trade In an Old iPhone For an Apple Store Gift Card

Got an old iPhone waiting in the wings? If you're definitely getting the new iPhone 7, turn your elderly iDevice into store credit that you can use to redeem the latest and greatest model to come.

Apple's Trade-Up Program will accept used phones and, after evaluation, you either get in-store credit to use then and there or you can send the phone via mail and receive a gift card redeemable at the Apple retail store or Apple online store. If you choose to do it at the Apple store, you can decide whether to apply the credit you receive to either the "full cost of a new iPhone or to reduce the monthly payments with your carrier." The price varies based on what iPhone model you have.

To trade in online, start by filling out the questionnaire, which will prompt you with questions about the functionality, condition, and carrier of your phone, and whether it has ever been water damaged. After completing the survey for a 16GB silver iPhone 6 in good condition, the estimate return was $200. You can also recycle your old iPhone (or any other device) for free through Apple's Renew and Recycle program.

3 Useful Features About Google's Newest Messaging App, Allo

Here's one app you might want to make room for: Google's newest messaging app, Allo. The app, free and available for both Android and iOS, is fun and easy to use. But with plenty of messaging apps out there, including iMessage, the default one for iOS users, you probably won't end up downloading it.

What features does Allo include?

The app has several features that iMessage and Facebook Messenger have: you can send stickers, make emoji tiny or large, and draw on photos (currently an Android-only feature). But the app's best aspects are Smart Reply, Incognito, and Google Assistant, and they are enough to give Allo a try.

What are some reasons I should give Allo a chance?

Smart Reply reads your messages and suggests already-written responses you can send with a single tap. The feature works on photos as well. It's perfect for anyone who's planning dinner or meeting up with a friend and doesn't need to personalize their answer.

If you want any messages to truly stay private, there's Incognito mode. The message uses "end-to-end encryption" and lets you set a timer on the message to expire. Currently, in iOS, you need to download another app to use within iMessage to achieve the same result. Or, as I sometimes do, switch to Snapchat and send something and hope no one screenshots it.

What's the best part about Allo anyway?

The most useful aspect of Allo is Google Assistant. No, it doesn't have a cute name like Siri, but that's because it's even better than Siri. You can chat with Google Assistant in your own conservation or insert into a message just by typing @google and asking your question. While that is semiuseful, Google Assistant works better as a stand-alone conversation. You can ask it the weather or the latest news, plan out your travel, and so much more.

While it's nice not to switch between apps and stay within a message, I'm not sure anyone needs to download Allo just to use Google Assistant. You can easily access similar features without it - especially on iOS. Want the news? Head to Apple News or download a curated news reader. Trying to plan a trip? You can download Google's other app Google Trips to figure out itineraries or use Destinations on Google and achieve a similar result. Want to figure out where the nearest pharmacy around you is? You can use either Apple or Google Maps to do so. Using these other apps and websites isn't as easy or convenient as talking to Google Assistant, but I don't think anyone's life is any less productive without it.

Ahead, see photos of the app in action and decide for yourself if you need it in your life.

Here's What Photos Look Like With This 1 Feature Only Available on the iPhone 7 Plus

There are several features to love and hate about the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Some people like the new colors, while others are heartbroken over the removal of the headphone jack. However, if you're still mulling over whether or not to get a new phone, the new cameras on the iPhone 7 Plus might convince you.

The iPhone 7 Plus includes two cameras with a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. A telephoto lens is typically used for photos where you need to blur out the background and truly focus on literally what is in front of you and the lens. The iPhone 7 Plus has a new camera mode called Portrait Mode that now puts that type of photo in your hands. Apple calls it the "depth-of-field effect" that "keep[s] faces sharp while creating a blurred effect in the background." The effect is also known more commonly as a bokeh.

Currently, the feature is only available in beta, arriving to the public later this year. We were able to test it out and instantly fell in love with it. It can turn any photo into something that looks professional and high-quality - which definitely means you can expect to start seeing these photos take over Facebook and dating profile pictures, Instagram feeds, and more. As a reporter, I own a $500 DSLR camera and bought a $200 lens to take the same type of photos. Of course, my DSLR still manages to take higher-quality pictures, but it also can't text or let me check Facebook, email, and more. Essentially, getting an iPhone 7 Plus is a pretty good deal and one that you won't be upset about, since you're getting the camera as well.

If you already hold an iPhone 7 Plus in your hands and are trying out the beta, here are some quick tips.

  • You can only take photos in bright lighting. Sorry, no low-lit bar photos.
  • Take photos with only up to three people to keep the depth-of-field effect in focus.
  • Position your subject further from the background to see more of an effect.
  • Be mindful of your phone storage! The camera will save both a photo without depth-of-field and one with it.

Ahead, see some quick photos we took playing around with Portrait Mode. Keep in mind that the feature is in beta, which means improvements will come and what you see here is not the final product.

While he is still writing additional novels as the HBO show is airing, his latest announcement should be enough to satiate even his most eager fans.

Martin recently partnered with Apple to release enhanced versions of the existing Game of Thrones books. The first title, A Game of Thrones: Enhanced Edition is currently available on iBooks for $9. This book features interactive maps, handy timelines, family trees, and more. It also includes a segment from Martin's upcoming sixth book, The Winds of Water.

In a press release, Martin spoke about the many cool and interactive features, some of which are shown below. He said, "Anything that confuses you, anything you want to know more about, it's right there at your fingertips. It's an amazing next step in the world of books."

A Clash of Kings, the series's second book, will be available on Oct. 27, and the following book, A Storm of Swords, will be available on Dec. 15. Each is available for preorder and costs $12. The fourth and fifth books can be expected on iBooks in the Spring of 2017.

This iPhone Case Will Solve All Your Headphone Jack Woes

When Apple announced the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and with it, the demise of the headphone jack, people collectively lost their minds. Sure, Apple packs in a headphone jack dongle with each new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but what if you needed to charge your phone at the same time? And don't get anyone started on the AirPods that are both expensive and require charging every five hours. That's why one company has decided to do what no one else has (yet): create an iPhone case that brings back the headphone jack.

Fuze created an iPhone case that puts a Lightning adapter and 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom of the case. Plus, you also get a bulit-in battery that offers power when your iPhone is low. The company is currently fundraising on Indiegogo to make this case a reality. At the time of writing, it's raised $20,414 of its $60,000 goal. The case comes in five colors: white, black, gold, blue, and rose gold and costs $59 (while the reward lasts). You can expect the case to ship in December - meaning you'd only have to deal with the lack of a headphone jack for a few months, if you decide to buy it.

This is definitely a better solution than some products out there that offer an endless tangle of cords and adapters. Watch the video above - it might convince you to buy into this idea.

If These MacBook Pro Rumors Are True, You're Definitely Going to Want One

After four years of radio silence on updating the MacBook Pro, Apple is looking to make some big changes to the product. A new report from Bloomberg states a number of rumors of what the next MacBook Pro model will bring.

The report, written by Mark Gurman, a credible reporter on Apple leaks, includes six new features you can expect to hopefully see on the MacBook Pro. Check out the details ahead:

  1. A new design: You can expect the new MacBook Pro to be thin - but nothing like the MacBook Air or 12-inch MacBook. Currently, the 13-inch MacBook Pro is 0.71 inches thin.
  2. Say goodbye to the function keys: Apple is said to be replacing the row of function keys at the top of your keyboard with a touchscreen display. It will use OLEDs (also known as organic light-emitting diodes that are reportedly coming to future iPhones) to show function keys like the playback button depending on which program you're using.
  3. Touch ID is coming: Touch ID, the fingerprint technology found on iPhones and iPads, is arriving on the MacBook Pro. This means unlocking your laptop with just your finger instead of typing out a password and using Apple Pay with more ease.
  4. A faster processor and video card: The processor will be much faster than those found on the 2012 model. The new MacBook Pro will also now carry an Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) Polaris chip card.
  5. Get used to the USB-C port: The USB-C port, found already on the 12-inch MacBook, will also be seen on the MacBook Pro. A USB-C port is an all-in-one function that lets you charge the computer, connect to USB drives and other displays, and transfer data.
  6. New colors: More color options like gray, gold, and silver may be coming to the new MacBook Pro.

It's exciting to see the MacBook Pro get all these upgrades, though it's about time. A new speculation from MacRumors suggests that Apple is preparing to test a new macOS 10.12.1 beta next week in order to finalize any issues and use it on the new MacBook models. 9to5Mac also reported that the MacBook unveiling event could take place on Oct. 24. We'll just have to keep waiting to see when they do arrive and which rumors are true.

Why iPhone 7 Users Should Temporarily Avoid Airplane Mode

Owners of Apple's latest iPhone 7 are experiencing an unfortunate glitch that significantly diminishes their cell service after switching airplane mode on and then off. In many cases, cell service is completely down for some time after switching off the airplane mode setting.

According to MacRumors, Apple is reportedly investigating the glitch. The company, however, has helpful information on what to do if you've experienced this problem before or are currently: restart your device, take out your SIM card, reset your network settings, and more.

In the meantime, you should probably avoid airplane mode altogether if you're an owner of the brand-new phone. But, if you encounter this glitch, you might get a replacement phone, reports MacRumors.

In addition to the cell service issue, other people are observing a faint hissing sound that the phone emits when it's overloaded. The complaint has resulted in its very own hashtag, #HissGate. It's another reason you should maybe consider keeping your current iPhone and try a different new Apple product instead.
