In what looks like yet another move toward better emoji diversity, Apple has reportedly requested five new emoji that are both gender and career inclusive. Emojipedia recently uncovered Apple's Unicode request for an artist, astronaut, firefighter, judge, and pilot, all of which will be available in both genders. Until now, professional emoji like the policeman and construction worker are male, while female emoji are only ones like the princess or dancer.
Once approved by Unicode, the emoji will likely be released with the other much-needed emoji once the new iOS 10 software is available this Fall.
